Lilac's Daughter
“An incredible, present voice, in a simple arrangement that just creeps under your skin." — is what Steffen Brandt, lead singer and songwriter from the Danish band TV2, said about Lilac's Daughter after releasing her first demo, Bitter & Scared in February 2011.
Lilac’s Daughter is a self-taught artist whose musical adventure started when she was just fifteen. She pulled an old guitar from the cupboard under the stairs and started writing songs that are a "wonderful blend of Americano folk and vocals that would grab anyone’s attention." as James from describes it September 10th 2015. He continues: "With every additional song I heard the more that I needed the music by Lilac’s Daughter to be part of my music collection."

Independent of any record labels, Lilac’s Daughter has played all sorts of gigs and tours in Scandinavia, Germany, United Kingdom and the United States of America with success. It's the lonesome days on the road like those that gives life to the beautiful melancholy that shines through in her folky tunes. As Hayley Gaftarnick says it: “Lilac’s Daughter is a great story teller with a soothing organic sound, and a wonderfully unique voice you don’t find elsewhere.”

In 2014 she recorded her first full length album in collaboration with the two producers Søren Itenov and Christoffer Stjerne in Copenhagen, Denmark. After the recording, Søren Itenov said the following: “As a producer and musician, I've been working in the Danish music business for twenty years, picking up three platinum records along the way, working with a lot of talent, and Sif Jacobsen (Lilac’s Daughter) is the real deal.” He continues: “Sif is a highly talented musician, a pleasure to work with, and one of the few singers I've had in my studio who can deliver lead vocals to an entire album in one day, with dead-on delivery in every take.”

The first three tracks of the album were released for streaming online, and have been well received—having already been played by BBC Introducing West Yorkshire, and recommended by DR (Danish National Radio), Karriere Kanonen. The full-length album can now be purchased on

Lilac’s Daughter is currently living in Leeds, UK. She is studying for her degree in music at Leeds College of Music, while keeping her career active by doing lots of shows all over Europe and being involved in exciting projects such as writing for the next album.

plus support from Fiona

FIONA is a singer-songwriter based in Leeds. Influenced by Nick Cave, Pj Harvey and Joni Mitchel her music combines elements of storytelling and social action with complex lyrical ideas, supported by her powerful voice and folk inspired instrumentation.

She moved to the north just over four years ago where she rediscovered her love of writing and performing. Whilst studying at Leeds College of Music she began to realise that she wanted to use music as a way of enacting social change.

In January 2017 she released her debut EP Right Now which began exploring some of her ideas and throughout her final year of study she began to develop the Songs of Experience Project, which aims to promote understanding and awareness of social issues through music.

Her most recent release Genderland feature two songs Woman’s World and No Means No, exploring gender inequality and sexism. Genderland is available a digital download and on your favourite streaming service.
