Spend all day in the dark with the 3rd Yorkshire Silent Film Festival's Sheffield All-Dayer at the atmospheric Abbeydale Picture House. We're just putting the finishing touches to the line-up, but we can announce now that the day will include:
Laurel and Hardy Play-Along: a fun, practical workshop for everyone who wants to join in with making a score for some great Laurel and Hardy comedy.
The Hound of the Baskervilles: the first ever film version of Conan Doyle's great Sherlock Holmes story.
Ménilmontant: a haunting, heartbreaking forty minute drama by one of early cinema's most unusual talents, Dmitri Kirsanoff.
South, Sir Ernest Shackleton's Glorious Epic of the Antarctic: an eye-popping spectacle and a tale of adventure and determination.
Harold Lloyd in Speedy: Harold Lloyd's final silent film is a celebration of 1920s New York and a madcap adventure as Lloyd races around Manhattan to save the last ever horse-drawn trolley bus.
The Unknown: Tod Browning's twisted, deranged melodrama starring Lon Chaney and Joan Crawford.
