Only Lucky Dogs are seeking talented and enthusiastic actors for our production of «Beaker's Place» at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018!
Beaker is the lonely and meticulous owner of an illegal body disposal service in the cellar of his pub. Deeply affected by the recent demise of his cat Paul, Beaker decides to take his own life — but at the crucial moment, he receives one last urgent delivery. Anxious to complete his own departure, Beaker is shocked when the bag begins to move…
We are looking for 2 actors (1m, 1f).
Without giving too much away, here’s a brief overview of the characters.
Beaker (male, any age) is the depressed sole proprietor of an illegal body disposal service he runs in the cellar of his pub. He is meticulous, and is constantly battling in his head between the call of the noose and his basic survival instincts keeping him alive.
Drew (female, 18-35) is a manipulative, but charismatic and seemingly friendly woman with a hidden dark secret. She is meant to have been killed at the start of the play but, somehow, is alive.
«Beaker's Place» will be rehearsing in Sheffield over June/July, and running in Edinburgh from Friday 3rd — Saturday 25th August; PLEASE make sure these dates fit your schedule before coming along! We wouldn't cast even Tom Hanks if he couldn't make it to the show.
Auditions will be held in the Cellar at DINA on Friday 16th (5pm — 8pm), with callbacks on Saturday 17th March (12pm — 3pm). If you can't make either of these dates but would still love a shot, get in touch and we'll sort something out with you!
Please be aware that Only Lucky Dogs will not be providing expenses for this production; actors will be expected to meet their own individual costs (travel, food, accommodation, etc.) over the course of the event. However, we can offer you a chuffing good time and the chance to perform at the biggest theatre festival in the world!
