Friday 1st December *Hallam Christmas Day*

Hallam Holidays Craft Market
12-4pm, the HUBS
Check out the wonderful festive creations of Sheffield Hallam University students and localcommunity based businesses offering baked goods, Christmas decorations and much more.

HSU Theatre presents: Young Frankenstein
From 7pm, The Stage, the HUBS
A stage adaption of the Mel Brooks film that starred Gene Wilder. Tickets can be here.

Christmas Karaoke & Cocktails
From 8pm, Hideout
Whether it’s East 17, Slade or Band Aid come on down and belt out the Christmas classics whilst enjoying the limited edition festive menu and a variety of cocktails and mocktails.

Saturday 2nd December

Whirlow Hall Farm: Volunteering – Breakfast with Santa
9:30am – 12pm, the HUBS
Come along and dress up as either Santa or one of his elves to entertain families while they eat their festive breakfast. Elves will introduce children to Santa and distribute presents. Santa will spread merriment amongst the children and ask them for their

Manchester Christmas Markets Trip
10am departure, the HUBS
Shop ‘til you drop and explore Manchester’s multiple Christmas markets from all around the world, plus the Arndale Centre. The
perfect opportunity to complete your Christmas shopping.10am departure, Travel by coach. Return to the HUBS at 19.30pm (departing Manchester 6pm) Tickets cost £10.

Mince Pies and Hot Chocolate

Stop off at the Robert Winston building for a mince pie, hot chocolate and a chat with your Students’ Union Activities Officer.

Give it A GO — Chocolate Tasting with the Chocolate Appreciation Society

Join the Chocolate Appreciation Society for some festive chocolate tasting.

Give it A GO — Arts and Crafts workshop with the Student Minds Society and the Volunteer Committee

RSPCA Volunteering Day
9am — 4pm, RSPCA Sheffield
Join us at the RSPCA for a day with the dogs and cats in shelter. You’ll help clear out the animal’s accommodation, walk the dogs and help out with some training! Meet at the HUBS, transport is provided. Please sign up* prior to the day here.

Knit and Knatter at Guildford Grange
1pm-3pm, Guildford Grange Residential Home — meet at The HUBS, transport is provided.
Come and join us at Guildford Grange Residential Home for a relaxing afternoon knitting and chatting to the older people living there. Beginners very welcome — the ladies will have you casting and pearling before you know it! This is one of our most popular opportunities so please ensure that you can definitely attend on the day if you are taking a space!

Love Your Leftovers Wellbeing Meal

Come and enjoy a fantastic, healthy meal whilst focusing on your mental health & wellbeing and meeting people in a friendly, relaxed environmen!.. If that’s not enough, the meal is run on a pay-as-you-feel basis and is made entirely from surplus food saved from going to waste!

Ice Skating at Ice Sheffield
1.30pm-4pm Meet: Owen Building Main Entrance
Whether you’re an Olympic figure skater or like Bambi on ice, this open ice skating session is the perfect opportunity to get out on the ice. Meet at the Owen Building main entrance and then get the tram to Ice Sheffield.

Talking Gigs Presents: Värttinä
7pm, The Stage, the HUBS
Värttinä trio featuring original vocalist Mari Kaasinen, Susan Aho and Karolina Kantelinen who will be singing acapella or accompanying themselves on accordion and kanteles (a traditional Finnish stringed instrument).Tickets can be purchased here.

Monday 11th December

Happiness Bootcamp
The Common Room, 7pm-8.30pm
Pop-Pilates is an intense, core building and high intensity workout that sculpts and tones every inch of your body with no weights, while working on combating stress. You'll definitely feel this the next morning!

Merry Quizmas
From 8pm, Hideout
Get down early to try the limited edition festive menu including the Christmas Dinner Burger and see if you have what it takes to take home the prize in the famous interactive Christmas quiz.

Abbeydale Picture House Renovation

Abbeydale Picture House are looking for volunteers to help with their exciting renovations; they have plenty of DIY jobs for you to get stuck in to! You will get a behind the scenes look into this historic Sheffield building.

Present Wrapping at St. Wilfrid’s Centre
5 — 8:30pm, the HUBS (Transport provided)
St Wilfrid’s Centre is a community where homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded adults can find understanding, practical assistance, a sense of belonging and the support to regain self-esteem. All clients at St. Wilfrid’s receive a present to open on Christmas day – they are looking for volunteers to spend a few hours wrapping these presents with them!
