Arriving at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start, we will head onto Derwent Edge and beyond for approximately 9 miles of challenging run route.
Post run refreshments and chat inside the pub (obviously).
All are invited to join us, for one of our longer than average group runs, over some slightly more technical ground, featuring exposed edges and dramatic night time views (weather permitting).
This is traditionally one of our most satisfying run routes, but brings with it the most exposure and on occasion, extremes of weather. all who choose to come along are required to show an appropriate level of understanding of the demands and at least some previous experience of similar activity.
Those who attend can test the optional Scott footwear at the same time as enjoying the run.
We do insist that runners possess the appropriate kit, along with knowledge/experience of how to use it and have the fitness to maintain an easy running pace over hilly and uneven ground for around 2 hrs non-stop. Often single file (allowing for occasional-frequent pauses to 're-group).
Keep checking for further updates.
Mandatory items are as follows:
Full Waterproof cover (to be carried if not worn).
Spare warm top layer (at least one).
Off Road footwear (if not the test shoes) with sufficient grip for mixed/muddy/wet terrain at incline.
Spare torch (or at least spare batteries).
Hat & gloves.
