Babies don't stop needing loving nurture and closeness once they have passed the early «4th trimester» stage. As they begin to engage with the wider world, they need the familiarity of a responsive caregiver just as much as ever. These caregivers provide a place of security and consistency while little brains are soaking up the world around them; connections are being forged that can set the tone for their future development. This time can be tough for parents, with much of the surrounding dominant culture asking «are you still carrying/feeding/co-sleeping with that baby?» Well, yes, we are :)
Designed for families who have moved on from the 4th Trimester (bumps to four months) meets but open to all prewalkers!
This is an unstructured format, just turn up and make friends with your neighbour and encourage each other with the trials of parenting children of this age (and sympathise with the sleep situation!) There will be tea and maybe cake!!! Just like 4T, we operate a non-judgemental policy, all parents and caregivers welcome.
Rosie will be around in the second half for brief sling support but this isn't a library session per se.
Free entry but donations towards the running costs of the Snug and tea etc are most appreciated.
