***Moor Market Pop Up Info Stall***
Monday 9th – Saturday 14th
You'll be able to find us and host of information about the week as well as mental health services and wellbeing in Sheffield as we takeover one of the Moor market stalls for the week. Search for the event on facebook to keep up to date with drop in activities.
***VAS Get into Volunteering Day***
Town Hall — Tues 10th October 10am — 4pm
The Volunteering Fair falls on World Mental Health Day, and there are many ways that volunteering can improve mental health and wellbeing, through increasing mental and physical activity, reducing isolation and stress, providing a sense of achievement and pride, or just being a way to meet people and have fun.
***Gargoyles of the Mind***
St Mary's, Bramall Lane — Tuesday 10th October 6-8pm
Photography exhibition event with work by Dan Bustamante, including speakers and discussions on the themes of mental health and social injustice.
***Neighbourhood Voices Choir ***
Union St Coworking Space — Tues 10th October 7.30pm to 9pm
A new kind of choir that aims to be a safe space to explore your voice and do it by singing arrangements of pop, alternative, indie, slightly left-field music. Join us for the first ever session for Neighbourhood Voices — with your first session FREE
Winter Gardens — 10th — 13th October 10.30am — 1.30pm
With 20 clients from Adullam Homes, who work with people with mental health difficulties to find housing solutions, this installation from Ignite imaginations will aim to create conversation and new points of view on mental health.
***Cast a Light Exhibition***
Chapel Walk Gallery — 10th — 21st October 10am — 5pm daily
An exhibition of service user and service worker created art that explores themes of connection and community and shines a light on the subject of mental health and wellbeing. Produced by the Creative Arts Support Team.
Carver House — Wed 11th October 10.30am — 1.30pm
A mental health and wellbeing cafe in the heart of Sheffield, providing delicious food and drinks, many books, and free activities to improve mental health. Search for us on Facebook for more information.
***Leonies Yoga Pilates***
Union St Coworking Space — Thurs 12th October 9am — 10am
For anyone trying this Thursday morning Yoga class for the first time, mention Sheffield Mental Health Week and get a half price class (usually £7), offer valid for the rest of October too.
***Friendly Fridays at Sheffield Mind***
110 Sharrow Lane — Fri 13th October 3pm — 1pm
Everyone is welcome; you can chat, buy a hot drink, read a magazine, play a board game or join in the art group for £1 per session. Trained volunteer Recovery Coaches will be available if you need support or advice.
***Mindfulness in Everyday Life***

Mindfulness meditation has been shown to affect how the brain works and people who practice regularly show increased activity in the area of the brain associated with positive emotion.
